Why would a small brick and mortar grocer pour time and resources into hosting a street festival? The answer is easy, fun. Authenticity and experiences are buzzwords used to define a shift in consumer marketing tactics. That said, when creating experiences to bolster a brand, one of the most important things we can do is build genuine, lasting relationships. Eat Greene™ was more than just a food festival; it elevated the brand’s visibility by amplifying the voices that make the brand great. It was a collaboration between local not-for-profit organizations, Fort Greene businesses, performers, and local food producers. Participating food vendors cited that it was one of the most rewarding and prosperous food events they had attended that summer. Overall the event was a great success, drawing a crowd of 2,000, garnering press, and creating memorable experiences that will live on for years to come.
